The majority of messaging providers employ a protocol similar to PostBox. This indicates that the message is not kept on the message service provider's server after it is delivered to you.
In fact, your network provider follows suit. The SP forgets about the message once it reaches your SIM. The same is true for BBM, Google chat, etc.

It is therefore impossible to retrieve a communication that you erase from your device.
If you ask for the message to be erased, it will be erased forever, even if it is saved on a server, as with Facebook or Instagram messages.
To put it briefly, you cannot get your deleted texts back.

There is an easy fix if there are issues with your Google Chat account. Initially, confirm that Google Hangouts is installed on your computer with the most recent version. Having a backup will determine if you can recover erased Google chat messages on an Android device.
With a Backup
Google Drive Backup: You can delete and reinstall Google chat if you have enabled chat backup to Google Drive. Google chat will ask you to restore from the most recent Google Drive backup during setup. As of the last backup date, all conversations—including those with deleted messages—will be restored. (Always select "Restore" when prompted.)
Not Using a Backup
Local Backup (Android only): By default, Google chat backs up your phone locally. New backups typically overwrite these every day. There's a slim probability that file manager software and technical procedures will allow you to retrieve recently erased communications from this local backup. This procedure is complicated, though, and its efficacy is not assured.
